The following is a partial list of games released for the Game Boy Color.

At that place were a full of 915 games which were officially licensed by Nintendo.[1] One of these games was exclusive to the state of South Korea.[2]

The last official release for the system was Doraemon no Study Boy: Kanji Yomikaki Master, which was released in Japan on July xviii, 2003. All the same, multiple unlicensed games (many of which are adult and distributed by fans) have been released since then.

Additionally, there were 58 games which were developed and officially licensed, simply were canceled before release.[three]

Notation that this list includes 2 classes of cartridges:

  • Class A, "Dual Mode"[4] cartridges compatible with Game Male child systems which predate the Game Boy Color. They characteristic the text "Yes" in the column indicating two versions of the game included on the cartridges. The backs of the boxes for such games are labeled "Compatible with Game Male child" and the cartridges of these games are typically molded in black to distinguish them from original Game Male child cartridges. Many of them also have special borders and/or express color support for the Super Game Boy.
  • Grade B, uniform only with the Game Male child Color, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Advance SP and Game Male child Player. They feature the text "No" in the column indicating backward compatibility. Such games typically feature the disclaimers "Only for Game Boy Color" and "Not compatible with other Game Boy systems!" on their box art or sometimes on the cartridge.

Unlicensed games [edit]

Several unlicensed games were released for the Game Boy Color. Almost all are backwards uniform with older Game Boy systems. Titles consist of Christian video games as well as counterfeit games based on popular franchises. In improver to these, several fan-made games were adult and distributed through unofficial channels.
